Too Big to Fail Blu-ray (NR)

Not the first and certainly not the last movie to examine the 2008 global financial crisis, this 2011 HBO film directed by Curtis Hanson wisely focuses its attention on the immediate fallout and not the initial cause. Treasury secretary Henry Paulson (William Hurt) and Federal Reserve Chief Ben Bernanke (Paul Giamatti) and their various operatives butt heads and egos as each comes up with radically opposing fixes to the problem. The crack supporting cast includes Cynthia Nixon, Billy Crudup, Ed Asner, Bill Pullman and Tony Shalhoub.
