AUBURN -- Six people, including three children, were displaced by a Wednesday morning fire that heavily damaged an Auburn home in the 2000 block of Blackberry Lane, officials said.
An occupant reported the fire at 3:36 a.m., and fire crews found flames issuing from the roof. The six occupants had exited through a back door and were not injured, Rhoden said.
The fire was declared under control at 4:10 a.m. The Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to those displaced.
According to Fire Investigators, the cause appears accidental and may have started near an electrical outlet on an exterior wall close to the front door, Rhoden said.
