LOGANVILLE -- Investigators believe someone may have been hellbent on burning down a foreclosed home in Loganville.
Fire investigators believe the 4 a.m. fire Tuesday that destroyed a split-level home in the 3700 block of Red Rose Court was intentionally set. Firefighters had responded to the vacant property on other recent fire calls that were less damaging, said Fire Department spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden.
Georgia Arson Control Inc. is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.
Firefighters arrived to find flames jutting from all sides of the home and the roof, with enough heat to cause radiant damage to the exterior of one vacant home nearby.
Rhoden said power crews were able to secure electricity to the home before it collapsed. No injuries were reported.
