DULUTH -- The Arena at Gwinnett Center is going to see a lot of action over the next few days. Two of music's hottest acts are stopping by to rock the arena: country's Lady Antebellum and pop's One Direction.
Musical trio Lady Antebellum stops by the venue Friday on the "Own The Night" World Tour with special guests Darius Rucker (formerly of Hootie & the Blowfish) and Thompson Square opening the show.
Lady Antebellum is Dave Haywood, Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley. The three musicians hit the music scene in 2006 out of Nashville, Tenn., and are known for the songs "Lookin' For a Good Time," "Need You Now" and "We Owned the Night." This year alone, the group has won several awards, including a Grammy for Best Country Album, Academy of Country Music Awards' Vocal Group of the Year, Billboard Music Awards' Top Country Artist and CMT Music Awards' Group Video of the Year for "We Owned The Night."
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, pop sensation One Direction packs out the Arena for a night full of screams and shrills from young girls, 'tweens and teens.
The British-Irish boy band became popular after placing third on the UK's Season 7 edition of "The X Factor" in 2010. By 2011, the group released its debut album "Up All Night" across the pond and brought the tunes to the U.S. in early 2012, which topped the Billboard 200 charts.
This is the boys' first world tour and they will perform hits like, "What Makes You Beautiful," "Gotta Be You" and "One Thing." Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
