LILBURN -- A grease fire in a kitchen of an apartment on Sunday displaced an adult and three children.
Firefighters responded to the 1700 block of Park Crossing Way at about 7 p.m., and got the fire under control in less than 20 minutes. The fire was behind the stove, after the occupant said cooking grease was moved to an unused burner on the stove.
"Firefighters made a good stop on the forward progress of the incident," said Lieutenant Colin S. Rhoden, a spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. "But not before the fire caused minor interior damage."
Rhoden said the resident added there were past problems with the stove, but the cause was not determined by the initial investigation.
Rhoden said the American Red Cross assisted an adult and three children who were displaced after the incident.
