Jennifer Jenkins Ash, age 57, of Dacula, Georgia entered into rest on Friday, June 15, 2012 after a gallant fight to pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Phil Ash; step-son, Stephen Ash; step-daughter, Amanda Adams (James) and children, Alexis, Hunter, & Tristan; brother, Jimmy Jenkins (Cheryl); nephew, James Jenkins, United States Navy; niece, Ashley Jenkins; niece, Heather Candler (Mahesh) and their daughter, Lana; step-mother, Mary Anne Jenkins; three sisters, Robin Jenkins and daughter, Kathryn; Nancy Dutton (Don) and their three children, Christine (and daughter Lucy), Katelyn, & Charlie; Lauren McDougald (Mike) and two children, Chase & Spencer; her beloved pet companion, “Buddy”; other relatives and a host of friends. Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Belva Jenkins and her father, Bartow Jenkins. Jennifer was born on March 23, 1955 in Duluth, Georgia. She was a 1973 graduate of Central Gwinnett-Lawrenceville High School and was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Jennifer was approaching a career in nursing for thirty years. She started at the old Button Gwinnett Hospital, moving to the Gwinnett Medical Center when it was built, and worked most of her career with Central Home Health Care (an Amedisys company) serving as a Home Nurse Placement Supervisor. She touched so many people during her nursing career, as well as, in her lifetime. Jennifer enjoyed fishing, reading, and loved to cook for her family. Jennifer was a fun-loving person and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Jennifer Jenkins Ash will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Gerald Hudlow officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
