NORCROSS -- Local police and federal authorities raided a Norcross home Wednesday, recovering a significant amount of methamphetamine.

Norcross police and members of the Drug Enforcement Administration arrived at the home at 2057 Lanier Terrace at about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Norcross police spokesman Capt. Brian Harr said. No one was home at the time, but authorities obtained a search warrant and entered.

Inside they found what Harr described as an "unknown" but "significant" amount of methamphetamine.

"Any amount of methamphetamine is a lot," Harr said. "It's a significant amount."

Harr was unsure if meth was being manufactured at the house, but said the drug was definitely being stored there in large quantities. He said the home was one of several in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties raided Wednesday.

At least one arrest had been made, Harr said. Few specifics were available late Wednesday night. A spokesman for the DEA could not immediately be reached for comment.

"It's still an active investigation," Harr said. "We're still very soon into it."
