DULUTH -- The city of Duluth is inviting residents to wake up early on Friday and assemble on the Town Green from 4:30 to 7 a.m. to talk with reporters from 11Alive's Morning Show.
The city staff invites the entire community, including merchants to display goods. Signs, banners and groups are all welcome.
In the case of bad weather, the show will move indoors.

Fishing tournament helps children's shelter
BUFORD -- Gwinnett Children's Shelter received over $7,000 thanks to Lake Lanier anglers who fished the first Annual Striped Bass Fishing Tournament coordinated and sponsored by The Cross Group - David Cross at Merrill Lynch.
The event took place at the Harbor Pavilion at Lake Lanier Islands Resort on May 18. Forty-two anglers turned out to fish with guides on the lake in the event coordinated on the water by Lanier fishing guide Doug Youngblood.
"We were thrilled with the amount of money raised and the support we received from the community as this was the first time we have done this type of event", Cross said.
Vaccination clinic planned
SUWANEE -- The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is planning a low-cost vaccination clinic on Saturday. The organization is also holding a sale at the thrift shop, Sadie's Place.
All proceeds will help place homeless animals. The organization has placed 520 animals in 2012 to date.
The events are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1175 Buford Highway, suite 109, Suwanee.
The following are available: canine and feline rabies shot, $10; canine and feline distemper/parvo shots, $10; canine bordetella shots, $10; canine heartworm test, $25; microchip, $25; combo test, $25; nail clipping, $10; deworming, $5; and flea treatment, $5.
