Georgia Gwinnett College athletic director Darin Wilson has been named to the executive committee of the Association of Independent Institutions, which promotes the education, development and welfare of student-athletes through their experiences and participation in the NAIA.
GGC will compete in 2012-13, its first school year of intercollegiate athletics, as a member of the Association of Independent Institutions. The Grizzlies already have been accepted as an NAIA member.
"It is an honor to be selected to serve on the executive committee of the association," Wilson said. "We are excited about our inaugural year competing in the NAIA while also being a member of the Association of Independent Institutions."
