Recent Peachtree Ridge grad Autumnn Burnett signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham's track and field program on Monday.
Burnett won the Gwinnett County and Region 7-AAAAA championships this year in the 100 and 300 hurdles. She placed second at the Class AAAAA state meet in the 100 hurdles and was fourth in the 300 hurdles. Her 100 hurdle time of 14.09 seconds is the 34th fastest in the country this year and her 42.39 time in the 300 hurdles is the 24th fastest. Both are Peachtree Ridge school records.
"Autumnn had a great senior season," UAB coach Kurt Thomas said. "She worked really hard and I believe she is just starting to tap into her potential. I'm excited to get to coach her next year and for her college career."
