Collins Hill grad Kyle Maynard will be honored as one of the stars of the year at the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame's 2012 induction ceremony on June 9. A congenital amputee, he will be honored for scaling the 19,341-foot Mount Kilimanjaro.
The other sports star selected this year is the Emory women's swimming and diving team, which won the NCAA Division III national title this year.
The hall of fame induction class this year features five people, including basketball pioneer and former Greater Atlanta Christian coach Jackie Bradford.
