DECATUR (AP) -- Police in a metro-Atlanta county say a sting operation that targeted store clerks selling alcohol to minors reeled in dozens of arrests.
DeKalb County police made 47 arrests over several days in late May. Police say nearly one in three stories checked by officers was caught selling booze to underage customers.
The Georgia Department of Revenue partnered with DeKalb County police for the sting, called "Operation School's Out."
The effort also resulted in eight arrests of clerks charged with selling tobacco to customers under age 18.
