FORT MILL, S.C. -- The Gwinnett Braves rode the pitching of Miguel Batista and an efficient bullpen to a 5-3 win over the Charlotte Knights on Saturday.
The win is the third in a row for the G-Braves.
The top of the sixth was the big inning for Gwinnett. Jack Wilson singled to center with one out and scored from first on a double to deep center by Felix Pie.The shot by Pie tied the game, 2-2, and was his eighth RBI in the last two nights.
Pie then stole third and scored on a ground out to the mound by Stefan Gartrell, giving Gwinnett a 3-2 lead.Terry Tiffee followed with a solo homer to right to put the G-Braves up for good 4-2.-- From staff reports
