LAWRENCEVILLE -- Football season is right around the corner. In the spirit of throwing the pigskin, the National Football League will host a free event on Saturday called Punt, Pass and Kick, a national skills competition for children at Rhodes Jordan Park.
Boys and girls will compete separately in their own age group for a chance to advance to the sectional competition and have a chance to advance to the team championship and national finals.
According to the event's website, "PPK is about kids, the parents who support their kids to come out and play, and about the volunteers who give their time to organize events. ... Let's make it fun, let's make some memories and let's instill the best of what football has to offer -- sportsmanship, teamwork and time to get active and play."
A valid birth certificate, entry form and parental signature are required for participation. Registration is encouraged and those who do, have a chance to win NFL Play 60. Children between ages 6 and 15 are allowed to participate.
