GRAYSON -- Some people may think it's too hot or early to start thinking about Christmas, but not for the residents in Grayson. The city is gearing up for its 8th annual Christmas in July celebration on Saturday at the Grayson Arts and History Center, adjacent to the city park.

The History Center will be filled with themed decorated trees (Georgia Bulldogs, whimsical fairies and then some), ornaments, wreaths and gift items, plus a sneak peak at new Christmas ideas.

Attendees have a chance to look through a collection of Jim Shore angels and Santas, Radco hand-blown glass ornaments, Dept. 56 collectible ornaments and 36-inch standing Old World Santas.

Vendors will be outside on the porch and gazebo selling elves, bears, moose, snowmen and all things related to the jolly holiday.

Refreshments will be served using recipes from the city's historical cookbook, "From Trip to Grayson." The cookbooks will be for sale at $15 each, and all proceeds benefit the Grayson Historical Preservation Society.

Tradition continues with the overall finale to the Grayson Arts and History Center's Christmas celebration with the Christmas Tour of Homes which is scheduled for early December.
