Buford wrestler Chip Ness placed second at the ASICS/Vaughan United States Amateur Junior and Cadet Freestyle National Championships in Fargo, N.D., on Friday.
The runner-up finish earned Ness All-American honors and added another accolade to an impressive resume. Ness is a two-time state champion, won the NHSCA freshman national championship and took third at the sophomore national championship.
Ness defeated Greco-Roman national champion Samuel Colbray from Oregon in the semifinals. Ness loss to Missouri's Michael Pixley 2-1, 5-3 in the finals.
