LAWRENCEVILLE -- On Saturday, BJ Musical Productions and BJ Chorale present Engelbert Humperdinck's classic opera "Hansel and Gretel" at North River Community Church.
The production features John McDonald as music director and Joyce Parks as the artistic director and pianist, plus a cast of professional opera singers from the metro Atlanta area singing with the Lawrenceville Community Children's Choir.
"We are calling this 'Shoestring Opera,'" Parks said. "We have a bare bones budget and cast members are participating because of their love of music and performing."
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children, in order to cover costs.
North River Community Church is located at 1735 Spectrum Drive in Lawrenceville.
