Several Gwinnett County baseball players were selected to the all-tournament team at the BCS 16-U Finals, hosted by Perfect Game USA from June 30-July 6 in Fort Meyers, Fla.
In all, 10 players who call Gwinnett County home were honored for their performances.
Leading the hitters were Peachtree Ridge's Joey Ruiz and Hayden Nechanicky of Team Elite White out of Loganville, Mill Creek's Logan Mosely and Lanier's Kameron Doster of Team Elite's Grey team, Buford's Austin Upshaw from Team Elite Black, Archer's Sean Fitzpatrick from the Pure Hitting club out of Peachtree City, Shiloh's B.J. Armstead from the East Cobb Braves program in Marietta and North Gwinnett's Tucker Baca, Grayson's Bryn Parten and Marist's and Stone Mountain resident Liam Cotter of Team Gwinnett out of Buford.
The players were evaluated during the week-long tournament and were selected based on first-hand observations, as well as statistical data compiled using GameChanger, the official scoring application of Perfect Game and the WWBA.
