Collins Hill grad Taylor Heinicke, a sophomore quarterback at Old Dominion, was among the 20 players named to the recently released Walter Payton Award watch list, which names the top contenders for the Football Championship Subdivision's top individual honor.
Heinicke had a huge freshman season at ODU after taking over as the starting quarterback in Game 5. He completed 211 of 307 passes (68.7 percent), averaged 307.5 yards passing in the playoffs and finished with 25 touchdown passes to just one interception (on a game-ending Hail Mary).
