LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Gwinnett couldn't protect a three-run, ninth-inning lead in Louisville, surrendering five runs, including a game-ending grand slam by Dioner Navarro, in a 10-8 loss.
The loss is the second straight for the G-Braves to the lowly Bats who entered the series with the worst record in the International League. Navarro's grand slam came off Buddy Carlyle on his second pitch after he entered for Jaye Chapman, who allowed a double and walked three in the final inning.
Gwinnett opened the game with two runs in the first on an RBI double by Josh Wilson and an error by Louisville on a Jordan Parraz ground ball.
In his first game back since he broke his hand, Parraz went 2-for-5 with a double. Jose Constanza led the G-Braves with three hits and three runs scored and Ernesto Mejia hit his 18th home run in the third inning.
Jose Yepez also homered for the G-Braves, who led by as much as 7-3.
