LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Tuesday afternoon car chase ended in a violent accident and the discovery of 15 pounds of methamphetamine, officials said.
At about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol attempted to stop a Jeep Cherokee for failure to maintain lane on Interstate 85 southbound near Ga. Highway 316, GSP spokesman Gordy Wright said.
The Jeep fled south before exiting at Beaver Ruin Road. While attempting to turn east off the exit, the driver lost control, hit a vehicle and the concrete median before overturning and coming to rest on yet another vehicle, Wright said.
Troopers subsequently found about 15 pounds of methamphetamine in the Jeep driven by Joel Martinez, 32, or Michoacan, Mexico, authorities said.
Martinez, along with the driver of another vehicle involved in the accident, were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Martinez will be taken to the Gwinnett County Jail and formally charged with drug trafficking upon his release from the hospital, Wright said.

notblind You are right that poor mexican was just doing the job that Americans failed to do..Deliver Meth to our Elem schools. I guess he forgot school was out...Good work for the State Patrol and glad you are safe. Your efforts help to keep the drugs off the street and out of the hands of our kids. I hope he gets sent back to Mexico before Obama finds out. Obama will have him to the White House for a big steak dinner.

That darn Obama - deportations way up since the Bush regime, and he didn't legitimize 2 million illegals like Reagan did.
"Obama has deported 1.06 million illegal immigrants through two-and-a-half years in office, Reuters reports. This puts him on pace for more deportations in his first term than George W. Bush's 1.57 million in eight years."

I don't even know if having that much meth is even a crime in Georgia anymore (Deal's new way of dealing with it no jail time)....or even a deportation trigger under new federal law....
