Gwinnettians will have a chance to hear from the governor, during next month's annual Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Expo.
Chamber officials began registration for the general membership luncheon planned as part of the event. Gov. Nathan Deal is the keynote speaker.
The former congressman, who has made job creation a priority during his gubernatorial term, will speak at about noon Aug. 23 at the Gwinnett Convention Center in Duluth.
The luncheon costs $55 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members, and registration is available at gwinnettchamber.org.
Peachtree Corners town hall series
Just days into cityhood, officials from Peachtree Corners are planning a series of town hall meetings to talk with residents.
The series comes after public backlash over the new city budget, which was adopted just days before the city became official on July 1.
The first meeting will be hosted by Councilmembers Alex Wright and Jeanne Aulbach. The event is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the clubhouse of the Avocet subdivision, at 4820 Avocet Drive.
According to an email from the United Peachtree Corners Civic Association, the council members will participate in a question-and-answer format to "share their feedback on the city's first months of operations."
Future dates will be announced.
