NORCROSS -- Now that temperatures have reached more than 100 degrees, any excuse to jump in a pool is a good one.
On Saturday, West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center hosts a "Splash and Bash" from 1 to 5 p.m. to cool down Gwinnettians of all ages. Those who attend the party can participate in games, like So You Think You Can Guard, a reverse scavenger hunt, musical boards, a cannon ball contest and more to win prizes.
There will also be a station to make friendship bracelets, apply temporary tattoos and watch presentations.
West Gwinnett Park features an indoor 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool with 750-seat spectator area and instructional pool. There is also an outdoor leisure pool which features a zero-depth entry, two water slides, river channel, bubble bench, vortex, spray bar and water play structures that will be open for splashing around in during the day.
Admission fee for Gwinnett residents is $3 (ages 3 and younger), $4 (4 to 10), $5 (11 to 49) and $2 (50 years and older).
