Special Photo Artist Andrew King is the second person to hang their art in Snellville's City Hall.
SNELLVILLE -- Throughout the month of July, local resident Andrew King will display his works of art in Snellville's City Hall as part of the Wall at City Hall program.
Based out of Snellville, King is a professional architectural illustrator as well as a fine artist. He sketches pictures of building and structures for work, but also finds inspiration in things around him, including nature, music and people.
"My interest in art and painting began while attending architectural school at Georgia Tech in 1969, where I took many drawing, painting and architectural history classes," he said. "After graduating with a bachelor of architecture degree, I began work as a design architect where I used my artistic talent to illustrate my own designs."
Watercolor is his medium of choice, but King likes to mix acrylic, pastel, oil or whatever he happens to find lying around to create his paintings.
In February, King donated an original piece of work to the city of Snellville, which is currently displayed in the Mayor Kelly Kautz's office.
In August, another local artist will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork in Snellville.
Artists interested in having a solo show at city hall can find the application and selection criteria at www.snellville.org or by calling 770-985-3587.
