LAWRENCEVILLE -- It wasn't the same rain that delayed the Atlanta Braves for nearly an hour and never came down quite as hard, but it was enough to halt, then postpone the Gwinnett Braves home finale against the Charlotte Knights on Tuesday.

The two teams will resume the game at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Charlotte entering the bottom of the second and play nine innings, followed by a seven inning game. It was 0-0 when the game was called.

The game will be completed in Charlotte because this was the Knights' final trip to Coolray Field this season. Fans with tickets to Tuesday's game can exchange them for any future game at the Gwinnett Braves box office.

A little more than 30 minutes into the start of the game, following the final out in the top of the second, the tarp came on Coolray Field as a hard rain persisted.

It took an hour and 12 minutes of watching the rain and radar before the umpires decided to postponed it.

The rain wasn't hard when word of the stoppage came, but lightning loomed and harder rain soon followed.

Starting pitcher Julio Teheran pitched two innings, allowing a lead-off walk before retiring six straight. Gwinnett went down in order in its only time at the plate. Gwinnett had won two straight games entering Tuesday, the first winning streak since it last played a doubleheader on June 15.

Gwinnett will go with scheduled starter Jose Lugo for tonight's regularly scheduled, nine-inning game in Charlotte. The Knights scheduled starter is right-hander Deunte Heath, a former Atlanta Braves pitcher.
