Dacula residents Annika Blanton and Emerson Newsome won their age group titles at this week's Royal Lakes Junior Open, a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour event in Flowery Branch.
Blanton shot 91 and 101 to take first in the girls 11- to 14-year-old division and Newsome (70-72) was first in 15- to 18-year-old boys.
Suwanee's Alex Hudson (90-86) was third in girls 15-18 play, followed by Dacula's Christie Blaurock (89-90, sixth), Kiersten Nowell (94-88, seventh) and Garnett Glaser (97-101, ninth).
In boys 15-18 play, Hoschton's Phillip Michael Beard (78-73, sixth), Sam Love (76-77, eighth) and Steven Wysocki (79-75, tie for ninth) finished in the top 10. In boys 11-14, Buford's Connor Conkel (81-85, eighth) and Suwanee's Hunter Hatsavongsa (86-86, ninth) made the top 10.
