NORCROSS -- After a brief foot chase, Gwinnett authorities on Monday apprehended a Norcross man wanted in connection with an armed robbery and other crimes in Rockdale County, officials said.
A Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department fugitive unit arrested Carl Ziegenbein on a felony probation violation warrant outside his residence on Bailey Drive in Norcross.
Ziegenbein also has outstanding warrants from Rockdale County for armed robbery, six counts of false imprisonment, burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two additional misdemeanor charges, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Lt. Sean Smith
Deputies set-up surveillance on Ziegenbein's residence and identified him on the porch.
"During the 'take down' phase, the assailant tried to avoid capture by running from the home," Smith said. "After a short foot chase, he was apprehended and arrested by fugitive deputies."
Ziegenbeing was being held at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond Tuesday.

By the looks of Mr. Ziegenbeing, it was a short foot chase indeed.
