Wesleyan senior swimmer Anthony McMurry won the high school state championship in the 100 freestyle last season.
Wesleyan's Anthony McMurry broke the meet record in the 100-yard freestyle, teammate Nick Salyers broke the school record in the 100 backstroke and both Wesleyan teams finished highly at this past weekend's Metro Atlanta Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Wolves placed fourth of 39 teams in the boys division and seventh of 39 teams in the girls competition. They were fifth overall in combined points.
McMurry won the 100 free with a meet-record time of 46.42 seconds and added a victory in the 50 free (21.46). Salyers won the 100 back and lowered the Wesleyan record with a time of 52.25. He also was runner-up in the 100 butterfly (52.47). Those two teamed up with Timothy Marsh and Drew Middleton on a first-place 400 fre relay team (3:13.63).
Wesleyan's Lauren Hall, the three-time defending Class AAAA-A state champion, won the girls diving championship with 499.55 points.
