Before the Gwinnett Braves' get their home schedule going, Coolray Field will host a showcase tournament for area college baseball teams.
The Southern Classic, scheduled for Feb. 17-19, will feature six games (two each day) in a round-robin format that features four Georgia college programs -- Emory, LaGrange, Oglethorpe and Piedmont. Games are 1 p.m and 4 p.m. each day.
Tickets are $10 each or fans can pay $25 for admission to all three days.
Oglethorpe and Piedmont play the event's first game Feb. 17 at 1 p.m., followed by Emory vs. LaGrange. LaGrange and Oglethorpe face off Feb. 18 at 1 p.m., with Emory vs. Piedmont in the second half of the doubleheader. On Feb. 19, the 1 p.m. game is LaGrange-Piedmont followed by Emory-Oglethorpe.
