NORCROSS -- Meadowcreek's wrestling team tied the school record for wins in a season with a victory over rival Norcross on Wednesday.
The Mustangs used a 45-20 win to claim the inaugural Battle of Norcross trophy. The win tied the school record of 27 wins set by the 1995 and 2011 teams.
The Mustangs (27-9) were led by pins from Robert Nguyen (113 pounds), Dante Benett (120), Dameek Reed (138) and Alex Steele (160), Dejon Wideman (220) and Alex Lucio (285). Rene Deluna(126), Ade Harden
(138) and O.G. Harden (170) won by decision.
Norcross got a pin from Tevin Shaw (106) and a big 7-4 decison by Michael Marshall over Ryan Moore.
