DULUTH -- With a heavy heart, Blake Shelton performs with Dia Frampton (of "The Voice") and Justin Moore at the Arena at the Gwinnett Center on Jan. 27.
On Jan. 17, the singer lost his father, Dick Shelton to declining health and cancelled shows in Rapid City, S.D., Bismarck, N.D., and Billings and Bozeman, Mont.
"I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers," Shelton said on his website. "Your support means the world to me. I love you guys."
The country star hopped back on the road again Thursday to travel to Duluth for his "Well Lit & Amplified Tour." He will be playing songs from his latest album, "Red River Blue," which includes songs like Billboard No. 1 hit "Honey Bee" and "God Gave Me to You," plus older tunes from his "Startin' Fires" and "Pure BS" albums.
Besides a booming music career, Shelton is part of NBC's reality show "The Voice," where music artists from different genres -- Adam Levine for rock, Christina Aguilera for pop, Cee Lo Green for hip-hop and Shelton for country -- coach aspiring singers with their vocals.
"This has been an amazing year for me," he said on "The Voice" biography web page. "If you would have told me when I started out that I would have six major awards (including a CMA win for Male Vocalist of the Year, a Grammy nomination, three CDs in the top 10 and an induction into the Grand Ole Opry), I would have thought you were pulling my leg."
Shelton will co-host The Academy of Country Music Awards with country legend Reba McEntire on April 1.
