Nesbit Charles Jenkins, Jr. of Snellville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 22nd at Embracing Hospice, Snellville, with his family by his side. He was 81 years young. A service celebrating Nez’s life will be held on Thursday, January 26th at 11:00am at Mount Carmel Christian Church, Stone Mountain, Georgia with Art Stansberry officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25th from 6-8 pm at Horis A. Ward Stone Mountain Chapel, 1355 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain 770/381-5722. Nesbit was born in Donalsonville, Georgia and was the son of the late Nesbit Charles Jenkins, Senior and LeClaire Gibson Jenkins. He was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain where he served as Assistant Treasurer, Trustee, Elder, and Deacon. He was also the Chairman of the School Board at Mount Carmel Christian School. Nesbit served as a Petty Officer during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier, USS Essex. He was the owner of D&M Contracting and M&J Plumbing. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Optimist Club. Nesbit is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Milly Howard Jenkins; his daughters Kerry Wilson of Cumming, Georgia, Leslie Benton (Darryl) of Locust Grove, Georgia, Julie Jenkins of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tina Martin (Tommy) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his grandchildren Baron Wilson, Joshua Benton, Alex Benton, Taylor Martin, and Tinsley Martin; and his sister Sue Claire Ivey of Madison, Georgia.
