SNELLVILLE -- An Acworth woman faces a 17-count indictment on charges she bilked a photography company of more than $100,000 while employed in Snellville.
Brandy Hook, 31, is accused of stealing about $120,000 in company revenue from Life Touch photography between 2007 and March last year, according to her arrest warrant and court records. She was indicted last week on 17 felony counts of theft by taking.
Life Touch, a photography company with offices throughout the country, offers family portraits, school portraits, event photography and photography for organizations, among other services.
A regional director for the company called Gwinnett police last March to report Hook, a six-year employee.
Hook had been responsible for entering client records, maintaining financial records, receiving payments and depositing them in the company bank account.
The manager told police Hook had converted funds received by the company for personal use.
"(He) stated that it appeared (Hook) used her access to company financial records to conceal her activity," a Gwinnett officer wrote in a report.
Hook was booked in the Gwinnett County Jail last May and released on $33,200 bond in September, jail records show.
