DORAVILLE -- Gwinnett County Fire Department investigators are probing a Sunday night blaze that heavily damaged a Doraville home in the 3900 block of Fifth Street, officials said.
A next-door neighbor reported the fire at 8:10 p.m., and fire crews brought it under control about a half-hour later, said Fire Department spokesman Lt. Eric Eberly.
Two adults who were home at the time escaped the residence unharmed. They later declined Red Cross assistance. No injuries were reported.
Eberly said the blaze caused extensive damage to the home and sent significant smoke throughout the structure. The exact cause is under investigation.
"An investigator has been requested to respond to the scene," Eberly said Sunday night.
