GRAYSON -- Like tea parties? The nonpolitical kind?
The Grayson Arts & History Center is hosting a Valentine Tea from 1 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 11.
Arts & History Center Director Barbara Hinkle said it's a chance to sit down for "an authentic English afternoon tea."
"We have tables set up with fine china, and we serve tea in teapots," Hinkle said. "We have scones and little tea sandwiches and desserts. It's a good time for friends to get together for a nice afternoon."
Hinkle said the center has been holding the event for about six years now. Tea events are one of the most popular types of gatherings at the arts and history center. The center hosts several of them throughout the year including a Mother's Day Tea, Red Hat Society teas and seasonal teas.
"These types of events have worked out well for us, because visitors get to sit down and relax in a historical atmosphere," Hinkle said. "We're looking forward to it."
The Grayson Arts & History Center is located at 2070 Rosebud Road.
The cost is $15 per person. For reservations call Barbara Hinkle at 404-862-1313 or 678-985-7775.
