NORCROSS -- Greater Atlanta Christian School seventh-grade twins William and Joanna Brooks recently got top honors at regional band competitions.
William, a talented trumpeter, was selected by audition for the Georgia Music Educators Association District 13 Honor Band. The group of 150 students from about 50 middle schools came together for a weekend at the Georgia Baptist Convention Center.
Joanna, who plays the trombone, was selected through a nomination process to participate in one of the 100 member bands at the UGA Middle School Band Festival. Out of the selected players, Joanna auditioned for placement and earned a first chair trombone position.
GAC Band Director Wes York said "the twins are quite musically talented and have many opportunities in their future."
