SUWANEE -- During its January monthly meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education voted to approve the appointment of five school principals at Ferguson and Meadowcreek elementary schools, and Central Gwinnett, Norcross and Shiloh high schools.
The educators, who are all veterans of the school system, will move into school leadership roles in the coming weeks as the current principals make transitions as area superintendents.
At Ferguson Elementary, Julie Peyton will take the helm. A longtime assistant principal from Alford and Lovin elementary schools, she replaces Joe Ahrens who has been tapped to become an area superintendent.
Juanita Daunoy will be the new principal at Meadowcreek Elementary. She formerly worked as an assistant principal at Jenkins, Simonton and Partee elementary schools. She replaces soon-to-be area superintendent Kelli McCain.
Maryanne Grimes will take the helm at Central Gwinnett High School. A former principal at GIVE Center West, she replaces Nancy Martin, who will soon be an area superintendent.
William Bishop will be the new principal of Norcross High School. A former assistant principal at Duluth High School, he will replace Jonathan Patterson, another soon-to-be area superintendent.
Eric Parker is Shiloh High School's new principal. He formerly served as principal at Shiloh Middle and assistant principal at Richards Middle and Shiloh High. He replaces Gwen Tatum, a new area superintendent.

Let's fix our broken school system once and for all. Let's implement vouchers so we may choose to get our kids out of these mediocre schools.

Buzz- choose to send your children to whatever school you want with your savings from your hard work and sacrifices, not with my tax dollars. Vouchers are nothing more than welfare for the rich.
