NORCROSS -- Gwinnett County authorities have arrested a trio of alleged teenage gang members accused of kidnapping and attacking a young girl.
Brothers Alex, 18, and Johnathan Gomez, 17, were arrested Friday evening when members of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's fugitive unit located them at the QuikTrip on Peachtree Corners Circle in Norcross, spokesman Lt. Sean Smith said. Deputies and police officers "confronted both men at gunpoint prior to their arrest," Smith said.
Jail records show alleged female accomplice Fiama Colinet, 18, was booked the previous day.
All three suspects -- members of the "Brown Side Locos" gang, according to police -- have been charged in connection with an incident in which police believe they forced a girl into the woods before choking her and threatening her with a knife.
According to police reports, the trio convinced the victim to drive them to the Indian Trail Apartments "to help a friend (whose) car had broken down." Once there, Alex Gomez reportedly "dragged" the victim into the woods between apartment buildings and confronted her about her new boyfriend -- Colinet's ex.
"He took both of his hands, wrapped them around my neck and started to choke me," the victim told police.
When the girl attempted to flee, the elder Gomez took her keys while the younger grabbed her, police said. Colinet then approached her with a knife in hand, according to police.
The girl was able to run away and began knocking on apartment doors, and the suspects all fled in her vehicle.
Both Gomezes and Colinet have been charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, theft by taking and battery. All three remain in Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
