LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett Surgery Center recently received accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), an honor recognizing a safe work environment and "the highest quality of care."
The Gwinnett Surgery Center, located at 631 Professional Drive in Lawrenceville, was one of the first general surgery centers in the state of Georgia. It's recent AAAHC accreditation was the result of "extensive self-assessment and on-site surveys" from the organization's surveyors. The award is specifically for organizations that provide diagnostic or medical care on an outpatient basis.
"We believe our patients deserve the best," said Gwinnett Surgery Center administrator K. Loretta Rice. "When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means that we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest care possible."
Almost 5,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by the AAAHC.
