PREP ROUNDUP: Parkview girls still perfect

LAWRENCEVILLE -- No. 2 Parkview ran its record to a perfect 19-0 overall and 10-0 in Region 8-AAAAA girls basketball as the Panthers rolled over Central Gwinnett 63-40 on Tuesday.

Erika Joseph led the way for Parkview with 16 points as nine Panthers found the scoring column.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Dacula 40, Grayson 32

DACULA -- Kendelle Culpepper had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Dacula to a 40-32 win over Grayson in Region 8-AAAAA action Tuesday. Joni Weatherspoon added four points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots for the Falcons (5-13. 3-7).

Sadie Caudell led Grayson (2-13, 0-9) with 10 points while Tiara James had seven points and nine rebounds.

Brookwood 65, Berkmar 39

SNELLVILLE -- Rebecca Walker poured in 25 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists as Brookwood cruised past Berkmar 65-39 in Region 8-AAAAA play Tuesday. Courtney Gardner had 12 points and Allijah Jackson chipped in six assists for the Broncos (9-10, 7-3). Nina Williams led Berkmar (6-11, 4-6) with 11 points.

South 43, Northview 27

SNELLVILLE -- Samantha McCombs had 13 points to lead South Gwinnett to a 43-27 win over Northview in non-region action Tuesday. Tiffany Jenkins had 12 points and seven rebounds while Yvonna Dunkley had 11 points and eight assists for the Comets (11-7, 6-3).

Collins Hill 35, Peachtree Ridge 33

SUWANEE -- Bre'ana Singleton hit two free throws with 10.6 seconds remaining in the game as Collins Hill pulled out a 35-33 victory over Peachtree Ridge in Region 7-AAAAA on Tuesday. Singleton finished with 10 points and six assists for the Eagles, who rallied from 10 points down to get the win.

Emily Buck led Collins Hill (10-9, 2-5) with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Mill Creek 89, Meadowcreek 34

NORCROSS -- Nadiya Miller had 20 points as Mill Creek knocked off Meadowcreek 89-34 in Region 7-AAAAA on Tuesday. Jasmine Carter had 13 points while Alesia Fagin had 11 for the Hawks (12-6, 4-3).

Paige Orangio and Sierra Menzies both had nine points and Meredith Schulte had eight points and 12 rebounds for Mill Creek. Menzies also dished out six assists.

Meadowcreek (4-11, 4-6) was led by Angel Alexander's 16 points.

Duluth 44, Mountain View 37

DULUTH -- Katie Powell's 17 points led Duluth to a 44-37 win over Mountain View in Region 7-AAAAA on Tuesday. Iceis Walker and Kelsey Hutchins had seven points each for Mountain View.

Lanier 45, Johnson-Gainesville 31

SUGAR HILL -- Shelby Threlkeld scored a game-high 24 points as Lanier rolled past Johnson-Gainesville 45-31 in Region 8-AAA on Tuesday. Taylor-Rose Gibson-Green added five points and 13 rebounds for the Longhorns (7-12, 2-4).

GAC 54, Cross Keys 12

ATLANTA -- Cosette Mahre had 15 points and Jasmine Hill and CiCi Buford each added eight points as No. 9 Greater Atlanta Christian (14-5) pasted Cross Keys 54-12 in Region 6-AA on Tuesday.

Wesleyan 96, Mount Pisgah 26

NORCROSS -- Top-ranked Wesleyan (14-2) put every player in the scoring column as the Wolves hammered Mount Pisgah Christian 96-26 in Region 5-A on Tuesday. Wesleyan's top three scorers did all their damage in the first half as Jordan Frazier had 11 points and 10 steals while Holli Wilkins had 13 and Katie Frerking had 10.

Lakeview Academy 40, Hebron Christian 37

DACULA -- Amber Skidgel had a team-high 17 points and Hannah Lentz had nine points, eight steals and six assists, but Hebron (10-9, 3-4) fell to Lakeview Academy 40-37 in Region 8-A on Tuesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Parkview 61, Central Gwinnett 56

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Andre Chatfield's game-high 21 points propelled Parkview to a 61-56 win over Central Gwinnett in Region 8-AAAAA on Tuesday. Jordan Coleman added 13 points for the Panthers (3-16, 2-7). Shaun Jones had a team-high 13 points for the Central while Darius Joell and Eman Westmoreland had 11 each.

Berkmar 57, Brookwood 35

SNELLVILLE -- Tenth-ranked Berkmar ran past Brookwood 57-35 behind 16 points from Tim Rowe on Tuesday. Yonel Brown had 11 points and A.D. Rogers added 10 for the Patriots (11-5, 9-1) in the Region 8-AAAAA win. Austin Lewis had a team-high 10 points for Brookwood.

Duluth 65, Mountain View 58

DULUTH -- Zach Erwin had 19 points as Duluth edged Mountain View 65-58 in Region 7-AAAAA action Tuesday. Savlon Griffin-Bey had 14 points and Ify Imachukwu chipped in 13 for the Wildcats. Andre Joseph had a game-high 20 points and Ryan Gibbs had 13 for Mountain View.

Dacula 60, Grayson 44

DACULA -- Dacula got 18 points from Brandon Goodson and 16 from Anthony Morse as the Falcons got by Grayson 60-44 in Region 8-AAAAA on Tuesday. Xavier Okoro had 15 points for the Falcons (10-8, 5-5). Derick Pope led Grayson with 10 points.

Johnson-Gainesville 63, Lanier 49

SUGAR HILL -- Zac Winzurk had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists, but Lanier (10-9, 2-4) came up short in a 63-49 loss to Johnson-Gainesville in Region 8-AAA on Tuesday. Montrell McKenzie led Johnson with 19 points.

Wesleyan 52, Mount Pisgah 45

NORCROSS -- Wesleyan won for the 10th time in its last 11 games as the Wolves held off Mount Pisgah 52-45 in Region 5-A on Tuesday. Shane Smith had 16 points for Wesleyan (12-5, 2-0) and Will Clifton had 14.

GAC 65, Cross Keys 20

ATLANTA -- No. 6 Greater Atlanta Christian (13-4, 4-0) had 12 players score as the Spartans trounced Cross Keys 65-20 in Region 6-AA on Tuesday.

Lakeview Academy 74, Hebron Christian 47

DACULA -- Tyler Matthews led Hebron with 11 points, but the Lions (7-11, 6-2) dropped a 74-47 decision to Lakeview Academy in Region 8-A play on Tuesday.

Habersham Central 61, Apalachee 41

CORNELIA -- Jermaine Smith had 10 points and Cameron Blakley added nine points, 11 rebounds and eight blocked shots, but Apalachee fell 61-41 to Habersham Central in Region 8-AAAA North action Tuesday. Apalachee drops to 4-12 overall and 1-3 in the subregion while Habersham Central improves to 14-4 and 3-1.
