Mrs. Jean Johnson Hamilton, age 84, of Hartwell passed away on January 10, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bob Hamilton, her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby & Vickie Hamilton (Statham) and Cary & Ellie Hamilton (Lilburn); her daughters and son-in-law, Lelia Bailey (Lilburn) and Carrin and Gary Pearce (Fairmont). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christy Hamilton Thomason, Richard Hamilton, Heather Bailey Hall and Michael, Will, & Ben Hamilton, 4 great -grandchildren, and two sisters, Catherine Willen (Birmingham, AL), and Bennie Duke, (Tuscaloosa, AL). Mrs. Hamilton, who was born on November 17, 1927 was the youngest of 7 children born to Mr. & Mrs. Samuel O. Johnson, Birmingham, AL. She married her high school sweetheart and they had a wonderful life together. They lived most of their married life in Stone Mountain and retired to Lake Hartwell where they spent many wonderful years with close friends and family. Jean was the best mother and wife anyone could hope for. She was a member of the Hartwell 1st Presbyterian Church. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 21st at the Eternal Hills Chapel, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, 770-972-3155.
