Grace Stephens

Mrs. Grace Chatham Stephens, age 88, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband William Harold Stephens; parents, Lizzie Mae Boles Chatham and Henry M. “Doc” Chatham; stepmother, Susie Brownlee Chatham; sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Brogdon; and brother Henry S. Chatham. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Jody and Lanny Carlyle, Buford, GA and Pam and Farrell Warwick, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Bart and Juli Skelton, Cleveland, GA, and Holly and Jason McCollum, Blairsville, GA; great-grandchildren, Jackson Earwood, Stephen Skelton, and Jayden McCollum; sisters, Ruth Peevy, Hoschton, GA and Geneva Taylor, Buford, GA; step-sister Charlotte Towler, Loganville, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mabel and Bothwell Pass, Buford, GA, Mary Jean and Randall Stephens, Buford, GA, Joyce Davis, Buford, GA, and Juanita Stephens, Buford, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Stephens was born August 21, 1923 in Duluth, GA. She was a 1942 graduate of Sugar Hill High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church and the “Good News” Sunday school class. Funeral service will be Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Dale and Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Garden in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family would like to thank everyone at New Horizons West Nursing Home and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their care and support.
