Disc: 3 1/2 out of 4 stars

It wasn't apparent upon release in 1989, but "When Harry Met Sally ..." marked the career zeniths of leads Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, screenwriter Nora Ephron, director Rob Reiner and soundtrack singer Harry Connick, Jr. The age-old question: Can men and women who are attracted to each other just be friends? is asked many times but never really answered and it doesn't matter. As lightweight romantic comedies go, this is among the best of the genre and is just caustic and cynical enough to carry weight with the non-believer sect.
