DULUTH -- Mayor Nancy Harris said an upcoming event this month will allow officials to share the city's vision for 2012 as well as focus on economic strategies used by the city during 2011.
Registration is open for the 2012 State of the City address Jan. 24 at the Gwinnett Center.
Harris said the annual event "is a little different this year. I'm focusing more on the economic side ... what kinds of things we have strategically planned as well as our expenditures. Our sources of revenue have declined, and I'm discussing what kind of best practices we've put in place."
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Gwinnett Center, which is located at 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth.
Admission is $25 for an individual. Tables of eight are available for $175.
All proceeds collected from the gathering will go to support local charities like Annandale Village, Camp Big Heart, Creative Enterprises Inc., Driving Magic and Rainbow Village.
