LAWRENCEVILLE -- Community and economic development initiative Partnership Gwinnett has announced its inaugural Movers and Makers Awards, honoring local manufacturing and supply chain companies.
Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 20 for companies that have been in business for three years in the county and are involved in the manufacturing, processing or distributing of a tangible product.
Awards will be given in several categories. Makers Awards include awards for small companies (0-74 employees), medium (75-149) and large (150 or more). Movers Award categories include supply chain pioneer awards and green supply chain awards.
Nominations are also being accepted for the MVP, most valuable provider award.

"We believe that providing recognition and exposure for our amazing local businesses will further develop their competitiveness and ultimately drive existing industry expansions and job creation," said Troels Adrian, business development manager of advanced manufacturing and logistics at Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development.
"Our community is one of the southeastern hubs for the manufacturing and supply chain industries, businesses that utilize our excellent workforce and transportation infrastructure to compete in today's truly global marketplace.
Recipients will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 22 at the 1818 Club in Duluth.

Chamber announces leadership team changes
DULUTH -- The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce started the new year by announcing promotions for its leadership team.
Alicia Krogh is now Vice President of Programs and Board Relations, Jann Moore to Vice President of Public Policy, Leadership and Education, Ken Rutherford is Vice President of Branding and IT, Lisa Sherman is Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Nick Masino is Senior Vice President of Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett.
