Gwinnett Gladiators goalkeeper Jeff Jakaitis earned his second ECHL Goalie of the Week honor Tuesday after leading his team to a 2-1 record the previous week.
The Rochester, Minn., native had two shutouts last week with a 0.67 goals against average and a .971 save percentage. He made 21 saves in a 4-0 win over South Carolina on Dec. 26, then had 21 more saves in a 3-0 blanking of South Carolina on Dec. 28. He also had 19 saves in a 3-1 loss to Florida on Dec. 30.
His four shutouts this season have tied a Gladiators record set by Michael Garnett during the 2003-04 season. His three consecutive shutouts dating back to Dec. 17 also tied an ECHL record for most consecutive shutouts by a goalie.
