Billy Ray Wall, age 76, of Lilburn, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Lilburn with Rev. Ken Hall and Mrs. Susan Rumble officiating. The remains will be placed in state at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. A native of Lakemont, Georgia, Mr. Wall was retired from MCI Trucking after 40 years in the trucking industry. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and an active member, deacon, choir member and member of the kitchen staff at Lilburn First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Brooks Wall. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Estes Wall of Lilburn. Affectionately known as “Papa Bill”, he will be greatly missed by his adoptive family, Joseph and Susan Estes, Jana and Todd Hunt, Kellie Estes, seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Maxine Southards of Mountain City, Dorothy Stockton of Alto, Patsy McCracken of Lakemont and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, GA 30097.
