ATLANTA (AP) -- Executives at Atlanta's airport say they are widening a runway and making other preparations for the world's biggest passenger jet to begin making flights to and from South Korea.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials say Korean Air plans to begin daily service between Atlanta and Seoul with its super jumbo jet as early as January 2013.
The Airbus A380 is a double-decker aircraft that seats more than 400 passengers. Airport officials say there are plans to include cocktail lounges and duty-free shops on the planes.
In addition to widening taxiways and a runway, airport officials say they are modifying two adjacent gates on Concourse E so they can simultaneously serve the giant aircraft.
