Rob Youngblood hit a grand slam in the sixth inning as Parkview's baseball team came back to beat Collins Hill 8-6 on Wednesday. Edwin Arias went 4-for-4 with two doubles for the Panthers (1-0). Jarrett Freeland was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jack Esmonde and A.J. Davis also had RBIs. Hunter Thornton pitched 2 innings of relief to get the win. Esmonde earned the save.
Eagles' (1-1) starter Ryan Askew allowed four hits and three runs in five innings to go with four strikeouts. Andrew Sever hit a solo homer (1). Nate Williams had two hits and two RBIs, while Wayne Wages and Blake Pulliam each had two hits.
Berkmar 13, Meadowcreek 12
LILBURN -- Berkmar's first win was a wild one, beating Meadowcreek 13-12 on Wednesday. E.J. Wyns was 4-for-4 with two RBIs to pace the Patriots (1-2). Dreyvis Perez was 3-for-4 with three extra-base hits and three RBIs. Matthew Jarrett (1-0) pitched 2 innings of relief to get the win. Parker Oesterle struck out three of the four batters he faced for the save.
The Mustangs (2-3) pounded out 18 hits in the loss. Johnathan Arnold was 3-for-5 and Cameron Bourbonnais was 3-for-3. Shea Wilkey, Chris Custodio, Carlton Connell, Chandler McCoy and Austin Johnson each had two hits.
Lambert 14, Providence 12
SUWANEE -- Providence gave up four runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, including a walk-off two-run homer, in a 14-12 loss to Lambert on Wednesday. Max Broom was the losing pitcher. Austin Loyd went 3-for-3 with a solo homer (1), two RBIs and four runs scored for the Stars (1-3). Christin Stewart was 2-for-2 with a three-run homer, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Erich Stahl also had two hits and two stolen bases.
Shiloh 4, Chamblee 2
SNELLVILLE -- Marcus McCorale and Chad Smith each hit home runs as Shiloh beat Chamblee 4-2 on Wednesday. McCorale (2-for-3) hit a two-run blast, while the freshman Smith hit his first career homer for the Generals (2-1). Jeremy Glore was 2-for-3 with a double. Brandon Hill gave up one run in four innings to get the win (1-0). Josh Nance recorded his first save.
Brookwood 4, Hillgrove 3
POWDER SPRINGS -- Cedric Mullins hit a two-run homer to help Brookwood to a 4-3 win over Hillgrove on Wednesday in the Broncos' opener. Michael Gouge was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Blake Scheck was 2-for-4 with a double for the Broncos (1-0). Lucas Sims was 1-for-4 with an RBI. He also started the game and struck out seven in four innings. Patrick Riley went of an inning to get the win. Michael Ranieri earned the save.

WINDER -- Alexander Martin pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Archer to a 4-0 win over Apalachee on Wednesday. Martin (1-1) struck out five batters. Deondre Singleton was 2-for-4, while Curtis Terry went 3-for-4 for the Tigers (2-2).

LILBURN -- Parkview shut out Berkmar 5-0 on Wednesday. Abbie Nelms, Taylor Ballard and Megan Reeves won the singles matches for the Panthers. The No. 1 doubles team of Daron Blankenship and Kristin Miller won their match, as did the No. 2 team of Lacey Wilie and Katie Linton.
Mill Creek 5, GAC 0
NORCROSS -- Mill Creek defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 5-0 on Wednesday. Madison Hahn, Allison Weaver and Abbi Jordan swept the singles matches. Cailey Stevens and Mallory Kolts earned a point at No. 1 doubles, while Natalie Martinez and Lauren Atkison won the No. 2 match.
Lanier 4, West Hall 1
SUGAR HILL -- Lanier took down West Hall 4-1 on Wednesday. The Longhorns (4-2, 3-2) swept the doubles matches. Victoria Inman and Jenna Soucia won the No. 1 match, as did the No. 2 pair of Carlie Overley and Nevein Gobran. In singles, Lauren Byrd (No.1) and Meg McRee (No.3) were winners.

NORCROSS -- Mill Creek swept the doubles matches in a 4-1 win over GAC on Wednesday. Brad Adkins and Travis Hanes won the No. 1 doubles match for the Hawks (6-2), while J.J. DULUTH -- Brooke Kelly scored the only goal of the match with 10 minutes left as Providence edged out Duluth 1-0 on Wednesday in a battle of unbeatens. Kat Slayton had the assist for the Stars (5-0). The Wildcats fell to 2-1-1 on the season.
