Rams' Conn, Nkemdiche pick up Atlanta Sports Awards

The Grayson football program picked up two of the top honors Monday night at the Atlanta Sports Awards, presented by the Atlanta Sports Council at the Fox Theatre's Egyptian Ballroom.

Head coach Mickey Conn was selected for the Coach of the Year Award while his junior standout Robert Nkemdiche was named High School Athlete of the Year. Other awards went to the Atlanta Dream (Team of the Year), the Hawks' Al Horford (Sports Person of the Year), Dominique Wilkins (Lifetime Achievement Award), Georgia's Jarvis Jones (Collegiate Athlete of the Year), the Braves' Craig Kimbrel (Professional Athlete of the Year) and Roswell's Jennifer Ann Shults and Lovett's Cyrus Wilson, both High School Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
